Pierce Powerline supports NIPSCO’s Pole Replacement Program, part of the utility’s 2021–2026 Electric Plan to modernize aging infrastructure across northern Indiana.
Our transmission crews replace and upgrade high‑voltage infrastructure ranging from 138 kV to 765 kV, helping improve grid safety and long‑term reliability.
Project Scope Included:
Removing and installing transmission poles, crossarms, insulators, and hardware
Stringing, repairing, and upgrading high‑voltage conductors
Working on or near energized systems in accordance with NIPSCO Life Saving Rules
Operating bucket trucks, aerial lifts, and excavation equipment
Performing emergency repairs following storm damage or system failures
Crew Configurations:
Bucket Crews – Foreman‑led crews utilizing aerial bucket trucks for elevated work
Manual / Pole Crews – Focused on structural installation, replacement, and ground support
